According to Meola,A (2016), The Internet of Things refers to ‘A network of internet-connected objects able to collect and exchange embedded sensors.’ In other word the Internet of things or IoT as referred to , is the connecting of devices such as cars and heart monitors to the internet .More devices will be added to the list as the Internet of Things expands. Due to the expansion of the Internet of Things the customary values of industries will be forced to change . Meola,A (2016).Businesses will have to keep up with the trends and growth of the IoT to meet the demands and needs of the public / customers . Meola,A (2016), says that the IoT will interrupt all possible industry business model .

 In the past the industrial sector were required to have professionals to maintain and optimise distributed plant operations but since the growth of the IoT, manufacturing plant distributes plant optimisation and monitoring tasks across control points without anyone being physically present .
